Job Descriptions
Role/Position Definition: Assists OTR/L in providing clients with quality care according to the principles and standards of practice for Occupational Therapy. Provide direct patient care, daily documentation, re-evaluation of patient progress, and order/inventory equipment.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:

- Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college
- Licensure/Certification
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the State of Michigan required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists therapist to provide clinical treatment, including client orientation to work reconditioning program; instructs client to perform therapeutic interventions constructed by therapist; fabricates simulations and tasks, reinforces proper upper extremity/body posturing/pacing/posturing/techniques and safety rules; assists in upgrading treatment program, etc.
- Maintains supply and equipment inventory; when necessary, orders supply and equipment stock.
- Follows HIPAA regulations with regards to patient documentation.
- May perform duties concurrently as Work Reconditioning COTA.
- Implements treatment plans to reach patient’s highest potential for independence. Adheres to professional standards of practice.
- Provides direct patient care to facilitate the restoration of functional abilities.
- Performs duties within the parameters of the State of Michigan Public Health Code.
- Provides documentation in a legible manner to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to reimbursement guidelines, accuracy, and facility requirements.
- Promotes current standards of clinical practice through participation in continuing education and in-service programs.
- Participates in program development and attends meetings as required.
- Ensures that patient has the appropriate equipment while in the facility and for discharge to home.
- Designs and fabricates splints/orthotics per doctor’s order to meet the needs of the patient.

- Evaluate and assign patients, gathering data from a variety of sources, such as patient’s record, interviews, observations, and team members.
- Develop treatment plans for assigned patients including specific goals and activities. Re-evaluate and modify plan at periodic intervals an as necessary. Treat assigned patients and guide individual patients in the selection of appropriate activities. Lead specialized activities.
- Prepare written documentation as required by profession, and meets standard for documentation, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports and other needed documents.

Role/Position Definition: The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible to accurately collect and analyze all required demographic, insurance, financial and clinical data elements necessary to register patients. They are responsible for the provision of routine patient access activity to facilitate efficient operations, expeditious reimbursement and optimal consumer satisfaction and to promote teamwork. They are responsible to further the mission of Motus Rehabilitation. They are responsible to consistently demonstrate the core values of Motus Rehabilitation. They are responsible to perform his/her duties in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements and Motus Rehabilitation’s Code of Conduct.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:
- Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- At least two years of medical clerical experience preferred.
- Office experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Proficient reading and writing skills.
- Proficient in computer usage (i.e. Windows-based operating system, Microsoft Office).
- Proficiency in the use of general office equipment (i.e. copier, facsimile, telephones).

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Strong communication, time management, organization, and customer service skills are necessary in order to excel in this position.
- Assumes any and all clerical duties and responsibilities as necessary.
- Assists in ordering and stocking clerical supplies.
- Verifies necessary information (i.e. procedure, patient demographics and insurance coverage) and records in the electronic medical record. Updating demographic information as needed.

- Dispense and possibly fabricate Orthotics/splints per doctor’s order to meet the needs of the patient.

Role/Position Definition: Responsible for maintaining accounts receivables. Process claims daily, submit all primary, secondary and tertiary claims electronically. Collects unbilled claim edits. Understands and abides by billing compliant regulations.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- One to two years’ experience of revenue cycle management or billing experience in the healthcare field.
- Knowledge of Medicaid/Managed Care Organization (MCO) billing practices, and other insurance websites.
- Experience with billing in an Electronic Data Interchange/3rd party clearinghouse environment.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Submits claims to payors in accordance with payor requirements and agency policy.
- Receives notices of claim rejections and denials.
- Properly track and resolve issues to ensure claim payment.
- Maintains complete and accurate accounts receivable records.
- Performs troubleshooting for billing error codes.
- Alerts the Manager regarding late or missing documents required for billing.
- Assists with the collection of receivables by monitoring accounts receivables, resubmitting bills to overdue accounts, and alerting the Manager regarding seriously overdue accounts.
- Produces reports as needed.
- Performs administrative duties such as sorting, scanning, filing, and emailing records.
- Address denials and determine next steps.
- Follow up on unpaid claims prior to filing deadlines.
- Re-bill or submit corrected claims.
- Monitor provider newsletter and communications for changes impacting claims payment.
- Prepare insurance refunds.
- Request off-sets and take-backs for overpayments.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Role/Position Definition: A non-license worker who is specifically trained under the direction of a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist. Performs designated routine tasks related to the operation of outpatient rehabilitation. Tasks performs are delegated by in accordance with the law.

- Previous experience as a Rehab Tech in an acute, hospital, or rehabilitation preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must perform the scope of work under the supervision and direction of a Physical or Occupational Therapist or Assistant. May function only with the continuous on-site supervision of the PT/OT and where allowable by law and/or regulations the PT/PTA.
- Provides supportive services in the Physical or Occupational Therapy service, which may include patient related or non-patient related duties.
- Assists patients in preparation during all phases of treatment, before treatment as necessary, during treatment, and at the conclusion of treatment.
- Participates in operational activities, including maintenance in patient related activities. Participation will be dependent upon the discretion of the PT or OT and the applicable state and federal regulations.
